Ranks

Cadet Corporal
Corporal is the first NCO rank, and can be achieved after an appropriate time as a cadet. The rank of Corporal is referred to as a Junior NCO (JNCO). The Corporal acts as the liaison between Cadets and NCOs. Any cadet who is classified 1st Class or above is eligible to become an NCO. The promotion to Corporal is made by individual Squadron Commanding Officer, and selection is based on merit and leadership potential.

 

 

Cadet Sergeant
Sergeant is the first Senior NCO (SNCO) rank. Cadets may be promoted to Sergeant after a suitable period as a Corporal. Promotion to this rank is made by the Squadron Commanding Officer.

 

 

Cadet Flight Sergeant
This is the highest rank appointment that can be made by a Squadron Commanding Officer.  The role of a Cdt F/Sgt is that of a junior manager within the Squadron.


 

 

Cadet Warrant Officer
Promotion to CWO can only be made by a Wing Commanding Officer. In order to be a CWO you must be over the age of 18.  Only the most exceptional of cadets achieve this rank.
